5th gen Lude vs. 2000 Celica

Do you guys think that i could beat a 2000 Celica GT with my 97 Lude? I am running stock and he is running only a 50 shot of NOS. I think that the Celica GT only has like 140 hp. But he said that he beat a 5th gen Lude before.

if he sprays, prob not. If he doesn't hell yea. But either way if you have a nice area to run. You will get him in the high end.

If you have a 5spd and you hit a Great launch then it "should" be a close race. They are about 140hp and if the 50 shot hold tru that is about 190 hp. Well still under your horsepower. But the Celeca is 2,500lbs. So if you know the LC launch then use it cause after he sprayes he will catch up quickly!! Take the Engine to the 8,000rpm mark and drive!!!
What do you have for mods?

Dude, give it a shot and find out. How come everyone always comes on here and asks if we think that they'll win a race? Go race and find out, it'll be a real good and fun race, who cares if you lose, you're stock and he's running juice! Let us know how it turns out.

Ok, this is a question that might help your question. Does the 50 shot of NOS give 50HP at the flywheel or the wheels?

I gotta disagree...

I say wheels... on most dynos I see, it is to the wheels, and in the lastest Hot Rod magazine or whatever, (read it on TDY) there was a Mustang with 100shot Nitrous Kit and it gave him 99+whp and 100+torque...

You guys that cant beat a GT Celica in your 5th gen need some serious practice. I handle the GT-S models with relative ease.

GT + 50 shot NOS is faster than GT-S.......

Just like my Si + 55 shot NOS is faster than 5th Gen VTEC.....

altho I have never had the opportunity to run one yet, I'm confident.

A prelude's actual hp to the wheels is something like 88% of the rated HP and it's prob. similar with the celica. SO, if you add 50 HP to the wheels, the celica has an advantage

the celica gt is also losing power to the wheels, and when u say 50 shot, thats measured at the crank.

The juice hp is measured at the wheels I thought? If that's true, then I think the race will be very close. I'd say DRIVERS' RACE!

It's measured at the wheels...

http://www.mtco.com/~westcj/Brian/dynodata.htm

He made 57w hp on a 55shot... and lots more torque too..

edit: that is just one site tho, but everytime I see DYNOs n such it usually matches, 55shot = 55whp....
