hey, i have the lude and my bestfriend has a 2000 mustang 6cyl. Now i've seen some posts on here that say that people are beating Mustang GT's which i don't understand cause the 6 hangs right with me until about mid 3rd gear then i start to pull on him. now i do think that i have tranny problems right now which might account for it, but i doubt it, because every reliable source i can come across says our cars are almost identical. which in my test looks like its true.
now if my car can beat a GT somebody tell me how, i know everybody says practice practice practice, but taking a prelude that shoud do 6.8 0-60 and making it compete with a GT which does like 5.5, somebody needs to teach me that trick.
and please i want somebody too. somebody tell me how to drive my car like that
Mods: CIA, header, CAT back exhaust

The '98 and older model Gt's DO NOT run 5.5 0-60's. They're not that fast at all. The new ones are quite fast though. I don't think you've heard anyone on here say they can beat a New GT in a stock 5g from a stop. You might be able to hang w/ one on the top end though. You'd beat a 98 and older GT in the 1/4 mile and on top end.

A stock lude vs stock GT, the lude will get it's ass handed. I think most people are talking about the older gen because they give a good fight for the lude. The newer GT is a nono. But the v6 should be a easy kill. They are better against the lude but should be alittle slower, lates
man you guys are ridiculous. a stock lude can't hang w/ a stock gt, but a bolt on lude should be a drivers race for the most part. I've tied 90% of new gen stock gts i've raced, pulled on the auto's and lost to very very few 5spds. I have lost to every modded GT i've raced. All when I was n/a
as for ludeinaway97, god i hope you have an SS, if you're in a 5spd w/ i/h/e and you can't pass him untill mid 3rd gear. I'm gonna get you banned!

I quit boost!
Like i said 99prelude_LC, educate me what should i be running with I/H/E. maybe 6.2 0-60, still tell me how i can beat a 5.5 sec GT even in a drivers race all the GT has to do is push the gas even if he had a bad start he would rape any lude with only the mods i have. Now read my first post again I do think i'm having tranny problems. Look in the 5th gen. post and i posted the problem. Maybe thats it.
I'm not tryin to diss either i just want to know what i can do to launch and drive the lude better.
any case i still think unless you do some major head work, super, or turbo a lude it should hand with a GT, and if somebody is with the mods that i've listed please respond and tell me how.

my bad, i meant to say in the last post. that unless my lude was supercharged, turboed, or some major head work was done, the GT should clean me up.
