1994 Prelude VTEC vs. 1989 CRX HF w/ 89 B16A JDM (w/ pics)

Tonight rolling down 28th St. east in grand rapids, MI behind me I see/hear a bright headlit, loud, honda.

Thinking it's just a riceboy trying to show me attitude I pay no mind as he screams past me in the other lane, but, at the same time I notice the Rota Circuit-8 gunmetal wheels, CF hood, body kit and what sounds to be the engine engaging into VTEC mode and well, it just looked too damn fast to be a stock engine.

So, at the next light we taunted each other with revs and we took off, through first gear, right with me, but then 2nd and 3rd and I walked him HARD, he was fading as speed increased to 90mph.

Not sure if I should proud or disgraced, not knowing what motor he had, we decided to pull over at a local taco bell.

Sure enough, under the hood of this 1989 CRX HF lay a B16A JDM spec engine, a CF hood covering it, Rota Circuit-8 15" gunmetal rims wrapped in Kuhmo tires, test pipe, exhaust and a nice clean white paint job.

Beautiful car!

here's a few pics....

nothing a H22 can't handle :P

BTW he has slips for 14.9@95 w/ 2.4 second 60' so it's descently quick.

All I have is a 93 USDM h22 engine, ACT clutch, CAI and exhaust

yeah my engine was swapped in and has always performed better than what's expected from a USDM h22, so sounds like I need a dyno

I would be bosting if I were you those little CRX's are really FAST. I have seen several 12 second CRX's here in AZ at the strip and infact one looks like a junker almost headlight wont go down.

Hmmmm Make A$$ fast or fix headlight??? SPEED FREAK!!

Nice kill man. And yeah go Dyno that Biatch engine you got sounds really FAST.
