it's definitely possible to run high 13s, as many people and many magazines have documented................... but most drivers don't have the skill.

damn the 1/4 mile speed. that car is the classiest(affordable) sports car in years. i love the s2000 for its looks. no other reason. it being fast is just a bonus.

if i wanted a 1/4 mile car i would've kept my eg and built the hell out of it. but then it would still be a civic.

I'm impressed that the auto G35 kept up that well, if it was an auto. That was hella dumb racing in traffic like that though! And why did the S2K sound like what between shifts? I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. Note: the next person to use the term "double clutching", and it's not a joke, should be banned. Forever.

P.S. I didn't get my S2K for straight line speed. I got it because everything on that car, from the steering, to the shifter, to the throttle response is dead on laser tight; it's an amazing car. Handles like it's on rails, and now that it's being force-fed 6psi, it's got that straight line speed everyone is after, too

For the price...you really can't beat either car in my opinion. The fit and finish of the cars are top notch and all around it's one of the best bang for the buck.

I do agree that if you want pure speed and massive torque then an American car is the way to go. Not everyone is about speed and going fast in a straightline so those cars won't appeal to everyone, just like the S2K and G35C wouldn't appeal to someone puts speed and power as their number priority when it comes to buying a sports car.

Just like the Porsche Boxter S. I would neve spend 60K on a Boxter S but a lot of people like them and would put that kind of money down without thinking twice. Why? Because it's a Porsche and owning one makes a person feel good and get pretty much for status. You can get an S2K and beat the Boxter S in almost every single category but then you're still driving a Honda compared to a Porsche.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
well contrary to commonly held beliefs by ppl who think imports are god gifts to man. The vette and 03 cobra handle extremely well, both would destroy a s2000 on a track(road/drag). And rick, a stock supra would get raped alive by an 03 cobra from any speed. The 03 cobra is easily an 11 second car with less thank 2k in mods.

I was waiting for someone to say this.

Did anybody notice this?
the new s2ks should be able to run 13.8 STOCK.
G35 6spd runs low 14s. Autos should be around mid-high 14s..
how the hell is that auto g35 with extra passenger and no mods keeping up?

I am a crazy s2k fan also, and it might be my next car this summer.
If this video is true, oh man. S2K is off my list.
I thought s2k's competition is 6spd 350z/G35C, not automatic g35c which
supposed to be the heaviest/slowest out of all....
