Will this amp with these subs work?

Hey guys I'm gettin my 92 lude si this thurs and the first priority is a system. I haven't decided on head unit or speakers yet but I've mostly been lookin for an amp and some subs that will still make it all in my price range. I should have about $800 to spend total and I need all speakers, head unit, amp, and subs. I'm willing to try the installs myself to save some $$. Any suggestions for a system would be much appreciated. Anywho on to my real question. I found a pretty good deal on ebay for subs being 2 Infinity Referece 1220's in a sealed box for 170 shipped and I was thinking of matching them up with the JBL bp600.1 amp. Now I just need to know if the ohms will all match up and whatnot so I don't buy and get screwed. Thanks guys.

The reference subs are 4 ohm SVC's if I'm not mistaken. Wiring those to the mono amp would produce a 2 ohm load meaning you would get 600 watts of total output. 300 watts to each sub is right at the recommended RMS rating for those subs. In short...this is just about a perfect combination and should provide you with some very affordable, yet great sounding bass if combined with a good enclosure. Good planning man! Let us know how it goes and I hope I helped a little.

You helped a ton! thanks man I really appreciate it. I found a kid who will sell me 2 infinity reference 1220w's for 100 and they are brand new still in box. Good old college costs are forcing him to sell. I can't wait to get it all set up. Thanks again. Has anyone had any experiecne with these and how good are they?
