what would u do

here is my ordeal, recently my alpine iva-d900 (dvd player) was stolen out of my car, sucks i know (fcuk thieves by the way) . well i now have around 1200 dollars and can afford to get the iva-d300 which is the lower version but touch screen for my car. i currently have no CD player in my car and let me tell u how much it sucks . the other option i have is to get a viper alarm with remote start and a pager and a decent alpine CD/mp3 player. other option is buying a stock CD player and doing hid retrofits.

its hard to choose since i am so used to having a screen in my car

cliff notes: old dvd player stolen, Choose between 1. a new one (iva d300) 2. viper or clifford alarm with pager and remote start and a decent alpine CD/mp3 player, or 3. buy a used stock cd player and do hid retrofit.

any input would be greatly appreciated

If it were me, I would get the good CD player & the alarm . . . . You got burned once, so don't let the lesson go unheeded . . .

Besides, do you really watch lots of DVD's in your car? I've never really understood the desire for that option.

And HID's are nice, but not a cost-effective mod. Stock lighting is more than adequate, and the vast majority of your driving is during the day when they're of no use whatsoever.

Remote start is pretty sweet, but a lot of people notice headlights. i'd go remote start, it's more practical for you

It should be pretty obvious after what just happened. Use the money on a quality security system/install.

if you do an alarm make sure you put as many sirens hidden inside as you can, make someone not want to stay in there

I would recommend a Clifford Alarm. Maybe the Matrix 3.5 RSX w/remote start?
