Viper 350 Security System uninstall?

I have a Viper 350 alarm installed on a 97 SH. (it was on there when I got the car...) So far it's been good, but a few days ago, the unlocker/locker function wasn't working properly. It will lock/unlock the doors about halfway. Then today at lunch, the alarm wouldn't turn off (I wasn't sure if the car would start because of this)....finally it worked like it should.

My question - are these alarms normally a cut/splice job and easy to take out? I just want the lock/unlock function and could really care less about the whole alarm function - the car already has the immobilizer in it from factory.

Thanks in advance!

I recently had a problem with my alarm as well and it turned out to be the remote itself. Once I replaced the remote, it worked fine again. I don't have a Viper, however you should try bringing it to an alarm/audio shop and have them try to program it with another remote identical to yours, if they have it in stock.
