Trunk Ground

I just installed my amp in the trunk, i ran the power and led on the passenger side then ran three RCA's on th driver side. I still get some noise, I'm thinking it's the trunk ground because don't think it's a good ground.

I connected it to the driver side bolt thats behind the seat when you fold it down. where did you put your ground?

on one of the bolts behind the rear seat
noise is most typical of loose connections or even an alternator going out

but try moving the ground around and see if it goes away and make sure all your rca connections are tight and not broken

I made a brand new ground. Make sure all the paint, dirt, grease, etc. near your ground is scraped away and you're left with clean metal.

sorry to side track this but its about engine noise as well.
i had a old alpine deck which i changed out for the 9827...... didnt notice any noise. i changed the 9827 out in a week or so for a 9831.

now i am getting noise.
i have tried multiple decks and regrounding it.
i have plugged in new rca's and plugged that into the amp
all this and still noise.

my old old alpine had very very little noise which i could barely hear. now i can hear it no problem.

when the rca's are not plugged into the back of the deck and the deck is on i still get noise but very very little. i tested the remote and its not that

can it be the power/ground off of the deck itself? or is it something else?

When I ground I used the shock tower..it's chassis and there's no need to drill new hole. What I notice is cheaper amp seem to not filter out noises that well.. I tried everything with my hifonics amp even a ground loop isolator and still a no go until i switched over to a ppi amp

sounds like it's picking up noise from within the system
does it do it wit ht he stock radio?
try moving the constant to the battery and maybe even the accesory off the ignition harness
do you have aftermarket spark plug wires?
it could be your alternator going also

well it just started doing it recently for me
i just changed my deck and nothing else. can this noise come from power wire or just a bad ground?
if its the ground maybe i can change the ground for the deck vs using ths stock wiring ground.

hard for me to diagnose the problem since all i changed was the radio pretty much

ok, I moved the ground to the side of the fender and seemed to stop. So see how that goes.

the noise can come from anywhere, usually it's from a bad connection somewhere
but, try moving the stock ground you can try grounding it to the metal housing and see if that works
