Recommend a 10" sub woofer for SQ

It's getting time for a audio overhaul. I'm looking for a 10" sub woofer that is "affordable", so $50 - $170 (ebay prices). Plus be great for enjoying music, not ground shaking.

I listen to mainly
-Trance ex: Ferry Corsten
-Drum and Bass ex: Pendulum
-Rock ex: Chevelle and classic rock
-Metal ex: Dethklok and Nightwish

I guess I'm looking for "fast bass".

I had heard these were good for SQ:
-Boston Acoustics
-JL Audio 10W3
-Rockford Fosgate P3
-Image Dynamics IDQ

Any suggestions?

I'm still using the old Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin sub. Not HUGE bass but definitely pretty good.

At the time, total cost for the sub was $87. I'm not entirely sure how much the prices have changed since 2006.

I have never heard an 8" sub woofer, but the Assasin 8" uses the same wattage. Would this one be more accurate?

Looks like FI and AA merged, so no one is really selling the AA stuff yet. I doubt their 10" will be under $100 anymore .

I don't think the 8 will have enough low extension though so I would suggest a minimum of 10".

Currently, my AA10 isn't really turned up. If I raise the sub out to 3/4, it seriously does thump pretty good. But at the current 3/8, it does a great job with musical bass.
Mine is in a sealed box, .75 cuft, if Mark is correct. Low end extension has been better after moving it from the original .6 cuft box though.
