Prelude Stereo moved to Civic

First of all I'm not much of a stereo guy, I just wanted a few tunes on my way to work, so I recently installed my Prelude deck and 4 main speakers (no tweeters) into my Civic hatch.

The problem I'm having is that when the car is turned on and I'm driving, when I turn the stereo to just under 50% volume there starts to be a crackling and popping sound from all the speakers and then if I turn it up from there they will cut out completely. When I turn the unit off and on again (and turn it down) there is music again.

What should I be looking for to correct this problem? What did I miss? I know the system can handle more volume than I'm using (after all I've heard it in my Prelude). I didn't install any of the acoustic feedback stuff in the rear of the Prelude either.

Probably has something to do with the lack of AFBS equipment.

I don't think it's that I put my radio in my moms accord for a while with no problems

check your connections and everything

could be that the prelude 6x9's are 2 ohms, the radio might only give out 4 ohms

I'd suspect its the lack of ASFB equipment too.

but i've never had the problem, and only used the ASFB system for like 2 weeks :P head-unit went first, then the 6x9s.
