New Prelude: Installing Alarm

Hey all,
I just got my 99 Base two weeks ago and drove it across the country! I love it, so I'm now putting in an alarm so that the car stays mine!

The alarm I just bought is a DEI Autopage and I just want to make sure there aren't any pitfalls in regard to the stock keyless entry and the "T5" security key system?

I'm assuming I don't have to disable anything in order to use the DEI keyless entry and starter disable?

Any and all advice would be appreciated! I haven't found a very comprehensive install procedure or tutorial, though there's some good info at the12volt Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers and commandocaralarmsCar Alarms, Remote Car Starters, Keyless Entry & Car Accessories. I also have a .pdf of the Helms, but it seems a little dense for this project :P

OK, the alarm is in! I still haven't hooked up a few of the extra features, and for the life of me, I couldn't find the horn wire in the steering column! I thought I found it, but the multimeter (and applying ground) says otherwise...

Can someone point me to a good place to tap into the horn wire?

blue/red or light green/blue (-) steering colum black plug
my question to you is why are you hooking up to your horn why not the siren that comes with the AP unit? also im pretty sure the brown output wire on the unit is a (+) for the siren output so youll have to reverse polarity on your wire

The alarm has outputs for Siren (Brown +) and Horn (Brown/White -)...I guess the more noise the better!

I've also seen those colors listed in the wiring guide, but when I tried back-probing the wires in the connector, to ground, it didn't make the horn go off...If one is looking at the steering wheel, this is the connector on the top left, inside the column cover?

I even saw there were two Blue/Red wires that fed into a single Blue/Red (ie. two horn buttons to one horn relay), on that connector, but alas, nothing! Shouldn't I just be able to ground out those wires, when the connector is in place, and have the horn sound?

looking at the steering wheel with the steering column off if you look at the bottom and then towards the front almost touching the steering wheel thats the harness its a 4pin connector if i remember. all you need to do is ground the test light and probe that harness for it and it will pulse the horn once you find it.

Oops. I guess I was probing a different harness. The one I was looking at with Blue/Red wires has the head light/parking light wires...I'll check the bottom one. Thanks!
