need help, please.

Hello fellow luders!

I have a questuon for all you audio techs out there.
Well it is about my wife's 99 Accord EX. She has the steering wheel volume and station controls. Well I would like to change the stock unit for something better. My question is would I be able to use the steering wheel controls with the aftermarket stereo? If so, how do you rewire it and so on?
I wish I had those on my Lude

you can use them, but youll have to buy another aftermarket part to make it work. i wired one up on a grand cherokee once when i worked at a car audio store. the part will essentially turn your steering wheel controls into a remote control. you have to wire up this box under the dash and steering column and then find a spot for the remote control "eye". you then program the controls to work with the brand of stereo you have and it works just fine. big pain in the ass if you ask me. and its expensive... like 75 bucks.
