Okay lemme explain my situation. I just got my car out of the shop after installing my JDM front end on. However now my remote doesn't cooperate with the alarm module. I have a Clifford Intelliguard 800 IQ by the way.

I took it to the only place around town that deals with clifford alarms to try and fix it. The guy tweaked with the emergency button under the steering wheel and he took it off valet mode somehow. Then after that i went to my friend's to pick something up. When i got back to my car the alarm had armed itself! No keyholes on my car made it kind of hard to get in so i had to go in through the trunk and set off the siren. I pulled the battery and then i was stuck cause i couldn't start my engine now. After a couple hours i finally found where the alarm module had been hidden and unplugged all the harnesses.

Okay so now i'm stuck with a car without an alarm and i can't lock the car either. I called almost every place around here and they said they don't do clifford alarms because they went out of business. So my question is.. should i find someplace that knows how to do clifford alarms and have them try to remedy the problem or should i just say "screw it" and get myself a whole new alarm all together? My car is stuck in the garage until i do something.

ok what you need to do is..

turn ignition on, press momentary side twice, then flip it to latched. then press momentary side 11 times and press button 1 on the remote.

I bought the car used and it came with the alarm but I didn't get the manual with it though so could you please clarify what buttons you're talking about? I have no idea what momentary side or latched means. And i'm guessing button 1 on the remote is the big circle at the top, correct?

yes your right and theres a black button in your car.. for the alarm. its the valet switch. you need to leave the car off and play with it see which way it clicks and pops back and see which way it clicks and stays down. momentary will be the one that pops back up and latched is the one that will stay down.. hope you understand

Okay thanks i understand now. Sorry i have just one more question heh. When i connect the wires to the alarm module again and then reconnect the battery, the siren will sound off again? Do i press the buttons while it's sounding off or should i plug in the wire harnesses while the battery is connected? This should be my last question on the topic.

Okay i plugged in the wire harnesses and it started going off... i had to hit momentary twice then latched once to turn off the siren.. it got put on valet mode. Then i took out the key from the ignition and put it back in to the 2nd click. (the one right before the engine start) Then i hit momentary twice and latched once, it was back on valet mode. Then i hit momentary 11 times and hit button 1. Nothing happened. I tried it again except putting back down to latched afterwards this time. Still nothing. Help???

The battery in the remote works.. the red light is flashing when i hit the button it's just when i point it to the red LED inside the car, nothing happens. It's like the alarm is not responding to my remote.

Argh!! i'm about to rip out my hair!! haha Okay here's what's happening. Everytime i drop it down to latched valet mode comes on. so from there i take it off latched and the valet light is off. Then i take key out and back in the ignition and try the following:

Then i try holding button 1 and hit momentary 11 times.. nothing happens. Take key out/in again.

I try hitting momentary 11 times first and then holding down button 1. Nothing happens. Repeat the key thing again.

I even try holding down button 1 and hitting momentary at rhythm whenever the red light comes on in the remote 11 times. Nothing happens.

Okay here's the steps i did last time:

Put key in ignition 2 clicks, momentary 2x, latched once, take key outta ignition, put key back in ignition, hit momentary 2x, latched once, then momentary 11x, then hold down button 1 for a minute or two. Nothing happens. Then take key out of ignition, test remote. Nothing. Put key back in ignition.. test the remote.. nothing. Ahh!! do i have a faulty remote or something?

well i dunno what to say what i just told you programs the remote to the alarm brain. does the alarm respond when you hit the switches?? it should chirp or at least flash the light. ive done it 100 times and it always fixes the problem. sorry this did not fix yours but why did you put key in then hit it a few times then take the key out? and then start over?? is the alarm out of valet mode? for sure?>

LOUDSYSTEM,
I hope I do not confuse anyone here, but I have a question for you. When you say momentary, momentary, latched. I understand that to be the default code #2 for the valet overide. Now that, like he said put it into valet mode, and when you return to center, that turns off valet mode. So now, entering mementary 11 time will not do anthything because it is still not in program mode right? I can't remember possitively, but I thought to get into program mode you needed to hold down the momentary side for 3 seconds or so, and then you hear a chirp? Sorry if I am wrong here, but I was going off memory, and I'll see if I can check the manual later. But I don't think he is gettnig into program mode at all yet.

What i did was
1. push momentary 2x, then latched once,
2. then momentary 11x, then button 1. Nothing was happening so i took the key out and in again and repeat step 1, then took the key out and in again and repeated 1 and 2 again just to be safe. There is no chirp or flashing light anywhere.

And since clifford is out of business, is there anyway possible that i can pick up a manual for my alarm?

Okay a little update on my situation here.. I just gave up so i went to one of the few clifford dealers in my area. They didn't have the user's manual for the intelliguard 800 IQ model so they tried using manuals from all their other lines. Each alarm had different commands on how to program the remote so they're trying to order an intelliguard 800 manual from DEI. They said since they went bankrupt, DEI has been very slow to deliver on any clifford products for the past couple months. So could maybe anyone with access to an intelliguard user's manual please post how to program the remote? Climbing through the trunk each time i wanna get back in the car is starting to be an inconvenience.
