Sometimes my alarm doesn't lock the doors other times it doesn't go off when a door is opened. It just randomly stops working. It didn't work a few days ago, but last night it started working fine.

I'm not sure if its the actual brain that is dying or something with the car that is causing it not to trigger or lock the doors. Its an old ass Viper alarm.

I just want to isolate the problem to the alarm before I throw my new Compustar in the car.

low current to the alarm unit? I heard they will act funny if not grounded well or when the car battery is getting old.

I would think it is either a wiring issue or the brain is malfunctioning.

Well the remote arms and disarms it fine... sometimes, lol

My battery is going bad though... maybe thats it
