just picked up the new alpine cda-9885
I installed it in my 5th gen. I was hoping the amber lights would match closer to the stock ones but the Alpine lights are more red and don't really match. It's a nice unit but I dont like the clumsy way the faceplate comes off, and the install is tricky as well. The menu's are easy enough to navigate through and the sound is nice. 3 sets of pre outs and Ipod connections too. I must say, I had a pioneer DEH-P8000R. The radio tuner on the pioneer was apparently excellent. Radio stations that would come in at my house, albeit with some static; didnt even come in on the Alpine. Another radio station that would come in pretty well also had static constantly even though I was in the city and when the older Pioneer would tune it crystal clear. I think the difference is that the Pioneer was like $650 in 1997 and this Alpine was only $279 in 2007. I guess you get what you pay for..anyway, I just thought I'd share...Anyone install the accord pocket with the door?
