You're correct, basically, it'll save you some "warm up" time in the winters. However, many installers are weary when installing the remote start on M/Ts in that many people leave their vehicle in gear after they park. So, when they use the remote start, the car will start to roll forward, thus causing an dangerous situation for both your vehicle and the people around it.

im sorry but those are some of the worst installs ive seen.. the civic/ prestige alarm install is just plain UGH and the back up battery install.. ok what dumb ass would use the sirens ground for the full system ground?? if anyone on this forum has that CHANGE IT!! as far all of those wire taps UGH.. i do use some wire taps but not that many. the changer install in that tl or what ever.. i like how they DONT pull panels off to run the din cable.. thats just dumb. and then how they keep noting that the alarm wires are the same length to the brain well you dont want that.. are all of the plugs for your alarm in the same exact point? NO they are in a row down the side if you were to have your wires so perfect that they were the same hope you dont have trouble hooking all of them up.. oh well somethings in there are dumb im not gonna sit and search through the whole thing. if your going to do an alarm install please have a proffesional do it. a car stereo is alot easier to isntall than an alarm. if you have any questions ask me id more than happy to help but dont get in over your head guys. its not worth the hassle and all of the time and what if you were to blow an air bag. if your head is even near that thing you wont be hearing for a while if you even keep your ear, youll get burned and itll cost at least 2k.. so please take into consideration what i said

Hahaha, after reading your post, I was wondering what you were talking about. Then I saw the link above and checked their site. I can't believe they use all those wire taps, especially for the remote start install. Anyway, it looks like the broke many rules of alarm installations in an automobile. In most alarm installation manuals, it states that although a wire tap can provind an acceptable connection, it is only recomended as a last resort. In an automobile where viabration is the norm, those wire taps provide an unreliable connection over time.
