Installed an IDMAX 10 subwoofer...

I am very dissapointed with this subwoofer. I ordered the subwoofer from an online dealer and built my own ported box tuned at about 27Hz. Within two minutes of playing the subwoofer at a medium volume, the tinsel leads started started hitting the cone which caused a rattling sound. Well I pulled the speaker out of the box and WOW...the whole spider is ripped completely apart from the voice coil and one of the voice coil's tinsel leads are broken. The subwoofer sounded great and this thing rocks at the lower frequencies, but for such an expensive subwoofer I thought it would be a little tougher than this...I'll post pictures later of the box and subwoofer. The dealer I bought it from said it'll take another day or two to get a return authorization# from ID....which sucks ass because then I have to ship the speaker, wait for them to repair it, then ship it back...no telling how long this will take. I've read nothing but horror stories online about IDMAX's suspension problems and hopefully ID will give me a new speaker free of charge.

That sucks. What were you using to power it?

Its an older Sony amp...xm1600gsd. I don't have the gain turned up much, I was going to break the sub in but I guess I need even less power to properly do that.
