It is pretty good for a stock set-up But if u had a system in your old car i will still not be as good.

I put an eclipse head unit and speakers in my 88 accord (still going) and when i bought the lude i was disapointed so that was my first mod done. Went out and spent a sh1t load of $$$ on stereo equip.

The stock system actually surprised me from the system in my 92. I kept the speakers, but added an eclipse deck, a 600 watt amp, and a killer 10" sub. I think i'll upgrade the fronts next year. I just rather do speed/handling first.

So when you change the head unit does it get rid of the acoustic feedback system (or whatever it's called), or it doesn't matter?

Just wondering because I'm contemplating whether or not to purchase a new head unit if it only weakens the sound, or if it makes it sound that much better.

Thanks

when i put a sub into the car with the stock head/ speackers i was gettin somesort of sound feedback makin the sub go crazy( i am pretty sure it was from the microphones in the stock speakers). so i cut the wire for the microphone and the noise stoped but the speakers sounded like crap. ended up changeing the whole setup with JL's and a pioneer head.

No changing the headunit alone will not disable the AFBS. When you change out the rear speakers to new ones that's when you want to be concerned. Check in the FAQ on this. I did a write up on how to bypass it once you got new rear speakers.

Also this is getting moved to the car audio forum.
