****ie needs some audio help

I just got my lude a couple weeks ago and love it! It's got an aftermarket electron blue pearl paintjob... body kit... spoiler... ect. However it needs a little tlc on the interior, so i might need help later with painting suggestions. The other trouble spot is the sound system, its stock and i wanna upgrade.

I'm looking at getting a double din streo any suggestions? has anyone installed a double din in there lude?

What are some of your guy's systems? I want to get a sub for sure, but im dont want it to beat the **** out of my lude. The sub that ive been looking at is a kicker 12" L7. Is that too much power for my lude? I hate rattling sounds on the inside of car, but love deep bass so dynamat or w/e is a must. But will dynamat get rid of all the rattling?

Thanks, i cant wait to start customizing my lude and this site helps a lot.
FYI my alternator died a week ago, so i got a 180 amp... electrical power is no longer a problem.

Plenty of people have put double-din stereos in their Preludes. No problems there. As far as subs go, how much bass you like is relative. But an L7 used to its potential will rattle the hell out of your car and you'll have to use dynamat &/or other products and hunt down rattles wherever they present themselves.

L7's are only good for rattling the windows of every house within a few blocks of your car. They are loud as hell when driven correctly, but they distort like crazy. If all you want is volume then an L7 might be a good choice, but if you want sound quality look elsewhere.

If you are looking for LOUD, a Kicker L7 will satisfy you. If you want clarity and sound quality, you will probably be disappointed. I agree with ExodusFX; sound dampening is a must.
