i need HELP wit my indash monitor!!

i jus got and installed a panasonic CQ-VA707W indash monitor...everything went okay while installing it but i noticed that there was a wire thats suppose to go to my ebrake so that if the ebrake is down and the car is moving, the tv would only allow audio to go through and would not play anything on the screen such a dvd player which is what i have it hooked up to...

i decided not to hook it up cuz i want to be able to have the tv play movies while the car is running (for my passangers)...well after hooking everything up the screen will not show pictures...audio would be playing and the tuner on the screen will show so the monitor is working...but the background is black so when i try to play a dvd it only shows the clock and sum other misc writing...

i figure that its cuz of the ebrake wire..so i grounded the wire (which is what the scimatics (sp?) in the instructions pretty much says) and see what happens...well when i grounded it the picture from the dvd was on for a sec and then background turns purple and shows the warning written on it "while driving only enjoy sound"...which i am assuming is the safety thing..but this time when the screen turns purple i can change the ratio of the picture..so its better than before when the screen was black and nuthing showed at all...

anyone know what i can do? i've tried everything i can think of but nuthin works...

i think it is the green wire which comes out...

this is what i did when i had my 7" adj screen

i took the green wire and stripped it about 4 inches and grounded it with the steel bar which right behind the deck u installed, and just wrapped it and dropped electric tape around it to hold it securely.

if i did not do that my screen would get this "danger" mode while the ignition key was turn all the way.

try that and let me know whats up..

do you have a panasonic monitor? i think every car is different...i think on my monitor the wire is blue..but when i grounded it the warning sign would come up but a small screen would appear that i can change the ratio of (widescreen, normal, zoom)...when the wire isnt grounded the background is just black...and only the categories like tuner and tv writing show...

First.. did you connect all the wires? Do you think you can list all the color of the wires behind the unit and tell me what are they for? The installation book will tell you what are those wires are for. Did you connect them correctly? Does your monitor work before you install it? Try to insert some dvd to test your monitor...

i figured the problem out..one of the wires on the DVD player actually was disconnected but somehow the outter wire protection was not damaged so it tricked me...the reason a dvd wasn't playing was because it was the safetly wire that had to be grounded..
thx for your help guys..
