I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on headunits, which ones you like and have had experiences with? I'm not in any hurry to replace my factory unit.

i've used a premier 960mp for the last year and am very happy with it,but the only problem is about a month ago I hooked up an amp to run all my speakers, and got horrible ground noises from the front rca's,my buddy hooked up an rca filter to it and it worked fine for a couple weeks, then started getting static noise from the rear channels,so,I'm taking it out and putting in a alpine indash unit to see if the head unit is the problem, but even if it is,its just the rca's which you wont even use if you're not amping your speakers,I think the premiers also have an extra 1 year warranty over the pioneers and have better preouts also
Alpine headunits are good. Three of my friends have Alpines and I've been impressed by the quality in sound and function. It'll be my next headunit since my Clarion is crapping out.
I dunno the new Alpine HU's are kinda crappy, I liked the 2004 and 2005 HU's but ever since that glide bar function came out alpines hu's turned into crap. Eclipses and Clarions are very good
Pioneer DEH-P880PRS. It has the best functionality if you ever upgrade to amps and better speakers and subs. I'm Running my whole system with it in a 3 way setup with seperate amps for the subs, mids and tweets. It also has a 16 band graphic eq, seperate crossovers for each channel, 5 volt preouts, Burr Brown D/A converters, and it has an auto eq and time alignment functions. I also like the simple look to the face. The crazy look of most headunits nowdays is not my cup of tea. Did I mention that it lists for only $450 and you can find better deals than that easily?

i've heard some good things about that headunit. If you're looking for the OLD school... lude2lust is selling his eclipse.
I currently have an eclipse and am extremely happy with it. (avn6600)
what speakers and amps are you running active? I recently went active myself...using the Precision Power DCX-730 Digital Signal Processor to control everything. =)

I don't know anything about the new glide bar. My friends have older models (the blue and green button ones), they are simple and function great.
