XM-ready for under $200 is fairly tough . . . . Here's what Crutchfield lists - Here's a few more. Sometimes you can knock a few bucks from their prices on eBay. And don't forget that the actual XM tuner & antenna will be another $100 on top of the deck.

Uhm... I would pass on that deck. While it does come with the xm tuner already, which saves you money, the quality of the deck itself is not that great. But if you're on a budget, you can't beat the price. The brand Dual is another name for Jensen, btw. If you're looking for a $200 deck, not including the xm tuner, the new Kenwoods are cool. They've got the 3 line display that lets you choose what info is on each line, similar to the display for the Plug-N-Play XM tuners. They also have built in acceleration & G meters, lol. If you're planning on adding a system to your car (sub, upgrade components, amp) check out the Pioneer DEH-P6700. It's the only $200 deck at Best Buy that has both lowpass and highpass filters for the speakers/sub. It's also XM or Sirius ready (you buy the tuners separately) and compatable with the new Pioneer Ipod adapter that'll be available in a week or two.

LOL, the exact deck that I just recomended. I wouldn't buy it on ebay though. That auction will only save you like $20. It's not worth it in my opinion. The great thing about buying something from an actual store are things like the 30 day return/exchange policy and actually having a place you can drive and take it to, instead of paying shipping costs. Also, the fact that you can pick up a service plan on the unit from the store, if you choose to. Buy it on ebay and your ONLY option is the manufacturers limited 1 year.

yeah that's true...but he's under a tight budget with a request for a lot of features. =P I mean MOST of the time this stuff doesn't break if you buy the higher quality units...then again I shuolnd't speak...I don't keep headunits for more than a year cause i want something new all the time.
yeah i recommend buying from there..sometimes it's free installation (plus cost of the wiring harness, etc.). Get the warranty for sure...so youcan abuse it.
Uhh its not that tight but anyhow do you suggest buying from Best Buy or Circuit City or Tweeter?
Also i need speakers i believe the Honda takes 6 1/2 speakers i need something along the lines of $200 and no more.
It makes me wonder can i add subwoofers to my back window area where the back speakers are cause i want to keep my trunk free
I'll try not to be biased, because I work for BB, lol. Any of those 3 places would be fine for purchasing the stereo. They all have similar policies for returns/exchanges. I know Circuit and BB do free deck install (basic labor free, not including parts) when you buy the stereo there. For BB, just tell them you want to match CC's free install and it's not a problem, even if it's not in the ad. Also take advantage of being able to price match the competition on the deck and the 30 low price gaurantee, if you see it go on sale for cheaper within that time.
You're right on the 6.5's for the civic doors. Unless you go with a thinner speaker like a Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine Type-S, you'll need a spacer to fit the larger speakers. Civics suck for speaker clearances in the doors.
As for subs in your rear deck... anything can be done for a price. haha

Buying from where? and what about some speaker recommendation Sony XPLOD ok?
I'd say go and take a listen and see what you like. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to emphasis on highs or lows, etc. All of the speakers sound a little different, so see what you like. Personally, most Sony speakers lack the clarity that I want, but some people love them when I let them listen. *shrug*

6.5 in the front and 6.9 on the rear but the rear speakers i was looking to get some bass out of those.
Will i need to amp these speakers w/ a 4x channel amp? i woulnd't need anything strong im guessing something with a 90rmbs should do it?
Or would you guys just run all speakers off the deck?
I listen to alot of brazilian music and techno/Trance/Dance so it kicks w/ lots of bass.
I wouldn't say that you have to run them off of a 4ch amp. Deck power would be fine for "moderate" listening levels. But giving aftermarket speakers more power and clean power is always good. It'll make them sound a little more dynamic and, of course, louder. That will give you more midbass. But keep in mind, to get some real bass, you'll need a sub. If you can sacrifice a little space... a thin truck box for a 10" sub, with the amp mounted to the back of the rear seats, will do WONDERS for your bass.

No bass box, i don't want to sacrifice my trunk space im already putting the amp behind my seats.
I thought about mounting 2 subs on the rear back and enclosing it with a box than i wouln't sacrifice but no one sits back there so i don't care for that much of sound.
hey if you are looking for a cheap amp, i've got a great one on hand. It's RF's old old line where it has red colored heat fins? I can send you pics if you want. I haven't used them in 3 yrs, but they are made by RF when RF was a great company. I also have a 2 channel RF punch amp, again when they were producing good amps.
You could also go for a single 10", just enough so your music has power. Everybody goes for 2 subs, but sometimes a single is enough. Also just like Exodus said, you don't "need" an amp to push your new speakers, but whats the point if you just spent 300 on new speakers and the sound coming out of them are not nearly as what it can be.
Trust us, when you start buying aftermarket audio, you will get hooked on, hoping later to have bought the better stuff or more stuff, costing you more on the long run.
