hEAD UNIT question

If you locked your stock head unit do you need to unlock it before putting in an after market one?will it affect the after market head unit

no... You use a whole new harness for whatever aftermarket one you get. It will hook up to the oem harness lines for the speakers etc. However if you put in an aftermarket one and do the same thing, your aftermarket one can lock up too if it has the feature lol.

its reallll easyyyyy... After you take out the oem h/u, just hook up the aftermarket h/u harness to the car's harness and connect the lines together (solder them preferably). Your aftermarket h/u should come with a chart and tell you what line goes where and for what model cars. Pretty much it.

edit: oh sorry, forgot, you'll need an aftermarket pocket to hold the new h/u.

yea thats wat i thought that i need the aftermarket pocket to hold it how does that go on just screw it in place of the old one?

actually you don't need a dash kit. You can 'iso-mount' it using the factory brackets, but it can be not the best fit, and will only save you 20 bucks or less. However, it will disallow aftermarket radio 'keys' from removing your radio (i.e. being stolen)
