So i have a 5th gen prelude, Its an auto so no im not tryin to make it fast, i got 68 TORINO FOR THAT. This is a audio project. I have alt/motor noise in my highs and just cnt get rid of it. Ive tried everything i know. I got new rcas, clean grounds, extra ground on the deck. And i even tried the noise supressor aka the sound killer. I dont have cheap equipment either. I got db drive platinum 6.5s in the doors, db drive 6x9s in the back. I got 8 db drive tweeters. I got the the highs on a planet audio 2400.4 and i got 2 db drive platinum dual2 ohm10s on two planet audio 1601s all powered by 2 group 31 north state batteris. And the deck is a planet audio p590v. Can someone plz help me!!!!!! And does everyone have their grounds behind the seat?

I would look at moving your speaker wires. sounds like you are picking up some radiated noise. Check to ensure that the speaker wires are not running next to the power wires or the fuse box or SMJ connectors. these are typical places to pick up lots of noise. and for gods sake get rid of the noise supressor they are a waste of money! Make sure ALL of you amps are grounded to the same place and that you have cleaned the paint off of the grounding point.

Yea I already got rid of that suppressor. Made my highs sound like garbage. I have all my amps grounded to the same ground and all my batteries grounded separate from the amps. Another quick question are either of u guys running 12s instead of 10s? The guy who built my box said that he could not build a box for 12s with proper air space in my car?

I have a single 12", and I would agree that it would be difficult to fit 2 12's in the trunk, but one 12" sub is more than enough to balance out the low end of my system. Also, not all 12" subs require the same size enclosure. I couldn't fit a double enclosure for my sub. However, if you used 2 separate enclosures, two 12's could probably fit, but you would have zero trunk space left for anything else.
I would also recommend not stacking your amp grounds all in one spot. When I had my amps grounded that way in a previous setup, it caused a horrible ground loop squeal. If your amps are not mounted right next to each other, it's an even worse idea. The shorter the ground wire, the better.
Also, unlike what it Hertz posted, I've found that it doesn't really matter where you run the speaker wires, it's the RCA's you have to watch out for. You want your RCA's to be as far away from your power wire as possible or they can pick up interference that will be amplified and make your speakers sound awful, kind of like what you are describing.

How about that picture?
A good way to get multiple 12' subs would be to use shallow, or thin mount drivers. Pioneer, Phoenix Gold, Rockford, Hertz, Memphis (I think) and other brands all offer these types of drivers.
Some newer 12" subs can use as little as .75 cu.ft. per driver sealed. nut most will do well in 1 cu.ft. this of course depends on the quality of the driver. cheaper subs do not always fit these specs.
NOT grounding you amps together is what can cause ground loops. It is professional install 101. another way to avoid ground loops if needed is to
run a "referrence" ground from the headunit to the grounding point of the amps.
And to debunk another car audio myth.... (this was proven by David Navone and Richard Clark via The AutoSound 2000 Tech briefs) if you are using properly shielded twisted RCAs you will not get noise thru them unless something cuts into the shielding. Speaker wires do NOT have shielding so it is always more likely to be the speaker wiring to pick up generated or RF noise.

@ItHertz, I think im gonna stick with 10s. I dont like shallow woofers. I see you work with Arc Audio. I like the sound of that Arc 1000. I want 2 of them but the Arc representative in my city wants a sizable amount of money. im talkin 250 dollars an amp
