fiberglass vs sealed

I was wondering do fiberglass boxes sound as good as say...a seal box (witha slant)

i'm interested in making a fiberglass enclosure, but i dont want to degrade my sound quality i worked hard to get it sounding good

fiberglass enclosures can be anything you want them to be.

they can be sealed
they can be vented
they can be ugly
they can be pretty
they can be strong
they can be weak

it's all in how you make them. When contructed properly, the FG enclosure could end up sounding better than your wood enclosure.

was it here? or on caraudioforum.com?

the guy with the 2 inch 'glass sub box. you don't need to get crazy like that. 1/4" would probably be all you'd need.

1/2" is even overboard! 2" is crazy.

It was on here, Ritteri I believe

I think what he was asking is does a sealed fiberglass box sound as good as a sealed MDF box. Right now he normal MDF box. I would have to say that it all depends on the placement and quality of construction of each of the boxes. Since you have more options with the fiberglass I would think that you could build a better sounding box.
