I have my gains set about 3/4 of the way on my eclipse amp. It says it puts out 130 watts RMS but i think its underrated. My OZ sub is supposed to handle 180 watts RMS. I can't get enough bass out of it. What would be a good crossover setting for the sub and how can i tell if i turn the gain up too much? I can't tell when the amp is starting to distort the sub.

well you say you cant alot of bass out of it.. maybe all the bass you hear is what your gonna get.. if you dont know for a fact if an amps under rated than its not ... id set your lowpass crossver at around 80hz that should be good. and the gain seting : turn your amp all the way down as int hegain then turn your deck up till you like how loud your mids and tweets are then go back and turn the sub amp up until the speaker distorts. if you cant tell go in the back and listen to the speaker when it doesnt sound normal as in any popping noises or just mudding sounding etc then turn it back down till that sound goes away. honeslty dont expect a ton of output from one sub with 130 watts going to it.. good luck

If it is a Matrix, it sounds like you don't have enough power to push the sub's potential. It should handle 250-300W. 130W don't cut it.
