Is there a decent one that doesnt chirp when you activate it?maybe just have the lights flash or something?I know nothing of alarms,never really thought I needed one before,but better safe than sorry

On a lot of the DEI alarms, you can arm the alarm without it chirping by pressing another button before you press the arm button.

you can also just turn off the chirp in the programming mode

I use a DEI / Viper

You can change alot of stuff like; chirp on off, pager beep on off, pager vibrate on off, shock sensitivity from the pager, etc.

I hear good stuff about compustars, but you can get a DEI installed for less than $400 with some cool options. The setup I use has the proximity sensor wired into my window motors . If I have my windows down and someone gets to close the windows roll themselves up.

sounds pretty good,I'm gonna have to compare some of these alarms to see which one would be better for me
