I recently purchased a 1200w sony xplod and a 1200w sony xplod amp. Worked great until i was about half way home and my bass just cut out. When i got home i checked everything out and realized i had blown my power wire fuse. (the one that goes to the battery) None of the wires were touching when i looked at everything. My question is what exactly will cause this and how can i go about fixing it? Im kinda new to audio.
You have a short somewhere. Trace the wire all the way from the battery to the amp, looking for anywhere it is worn through or making contact with anything metal.
when you turn up your system more power your amp needs, which goes through the power wire...burns out cause ur power wire cant supply the demand volume or the fuse is overpowered
1.what wire size gauge you got? 4?
2.size of fuse & what sytle?AGU,maxi,ATo,afs,ANL
