look into the Hifonics Z700. that's what i have. 4x50 and 1x200. i have that running mb psc216 and dkc116 and one jl 12w3 in a ported box. the amp is $275. check ebay. I like the amp and it pounds pretty hard on the jl but i would kinda like more power to the components.

I have an Alpine MRV-F353 amplifier that is very solid, and very clean. 40x4 and 150x1 I believe, not quite sure though. Something like that.

It's a last-year's-model to the MRV-F357, which I believe makes a little more power and may be digital, now. The 353 cost me $300, and the 357s should be going for a bit over $400.

get a/d/s/ P650. www.adst.com , their sound qualilty matches high end brands like mcintosh and tubedriver plus they have a low profile that can be mounted easily under the seat.

5 channel amps never seem to put out enough power for subs. If possible, run your rear fill off HU power, and use a 4 channel amp. 1&2 to power your fronts, and 3&4 bridged to power subs.

Well that may or may not be better or worse.
Lots of amps have 35x4 for instance, or even 50x4. Bridged, that'd be 100x1. Most 5-channel units I've seen (decent ones anyway) are at LEAST 100x1...

I've got one amp for my system doing what Odysseus recommends-running the rear fill off the HU and getting plenty of power to my front stage (Focal comps) and bridging the rear for my sub. Love my Orion amp-lots of clean power and adjustability built in.

My choice for a 5 channel amp: new for 2000, KICKER ix405D, 4x40Watts front and rear 390Watts(2ohms) with a class-D digital subwoofer section for the 5th channel. Retails for $899.00CDN. PS: comes with remote bass control unit.
