Basic Clifford Alarm Keeps shutting off my car

It shuts off my car randomly from time to time..

It has a kill switch (so I heard from a friend) somewhere.. And it randomly shuts my car off at any speed.. The car could be sitting there running.. It'll shut the car off and arm itself.

I was wondering if anyone had any info on what I could do about this. Its dangerous.

I noticed if I take the key out, arm the car, and disarm it, it wont do it again for a while.

Thanks for your help!

How old is the Clifford? While just about everything else on the alarm was great there's one thing I hated about the older Cliffords. The install requires you to cut the starter and ignition wire, tap the Clifford between it so the starter and ignition kill work. Not a big deal for the starter since you only need it to start the car. The ignition on the other hand, if that connection is lost the car will shut off. It's stupid design because it's happened to myself and a couple of other people I know where the car has turned off while driving.
It's either a lose connection or the brain is bad. I got rid of that alarm because of how dangerous that stupid feature is.

x2 on the cliffords of old failing and killing the car. just upgrade to a newer dei alarm and resolder the ignition lead so it wont keep happening. or you can send the brain off to dei as they now own clifford, and they will swap it out for a new one. clifford and dei products carry a lifetime warranty. but you will need to reconnect the ignition and starter in the mean time.
