Audio Tuning

I guess you can call me a newb about subwoofers and amps and HU's, but i have a quick question....I got 2 12" alpine type r 1223d pushing 600rms with a mono alpine pdx1.600...as for the HU it is a alpine cda 9857...speakers are stock but im buying either type r or type x...

with this HU will it be enough to power all 4 type r or type x speakers? or would i need another amp?

Inside the HU when you go into the bass engine...what does the Q and Fre stand for? I know its tuning the sound but would you guys recommend i set it as for maximum SQL?

Thanks I really appreciate it.

Not if you want it to sound decent, and yes you will need another amp (or two).

I'd guess that "Q" is probably short of EQ, which would be the equalizer settings. "Fre" probably sets the crossover frequencies. Read the instructions that came with the radio, they should either confirm my guesses or tell you what those terms really mean.

That is impossible to answer without being inside your car.

I wish i knew where my manual is ive had this deck for 4 years and i think i lost the box during that time period =(......for the "Q" i can only set it to .5, .75, 1.0, or 1.25 does that sound like it is the equalizer? and for the Fre its only 60Hz 80Hz 100Hz or 125Hz

I was just told that the Q is the Bass Bandwidth and the Fre is the Bass Center Frequency? If its not too much trouble could you explain what those two are?

Sorry, I've never owned an alpine HU so I can't really answer how that works; however, a quick google search turned this up:

Settings for Alpine 9881 - Team-BHP

Those appear to be Alpine specific features to replace traditional EQ settings.

What's the model of your HU?
