audio suggestions...

im getting ready to get my "system" in my car, and i want to kno people's oppinions on the system, i know it sounds good already, just would like to know and help decide on stuff

CD Decks (dunno what to choose outta these)
1- Alpine CDA-9830

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-39ZIexB...&avf=Y&search=

2- Eclipse CD3434

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...0&CurImgSize=0

3- Planet Audio PCD4895

http://www.planetaudiousa.com/print/pcd4895.htm
its 300 at the audio shop i go to.

SPEAKERS- dunno if i wanna get an amp for them down the line or not... but heres what im thinking

DOOR SPEAKERS
1- Infinity Kappa 62.5I 6-1/2'' 2-way

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=20074
RMS: 75 Watts

2- Some planet audio speakers... cant remeber which ones, ill get back to you guys on them... but they were priced the same as the kappas

Rear Deck Speakers
1- JL Audio TR690-TXI 6x9" 3-Way

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=23520

2- Infinity Reference 9603i 6x9" 3-Way

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=20366

SUB(only want one 10 inch sub..)
1- JL Audio 10'' W7

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=62141
I can get a deal on them right now, $300 for one of them

or a W6 its 90 bucks cheeper... dunno

SUB's AMP
1- JL 500/1 Amp

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...roduct_ID=3364

Or maybe another 500 or less watt amp... any suggestions for anything that you would change.... i listen to mostly New Alternative music... blink 182, the used, some heavy stuff like slipknot or System of a down, but i listen to Rap every once in a while and would like the bass. i dont want to take up that much space in the trunk so i think that one top of the line 10 inch is right for me... but any suggestions would be great... thanks for reading mi thread

BTW im in a 01' base prelude

alpine and eclipse are both good radios, I've never heard of the other brand

for the speakers go listen to them at a store and see which one you like better, both brand will suit

JL amps kick ass, I have the 500x1 and I would recomend it to anyone

the W7, I will envy you

You can't go wrong with the Alpine or Eclipse HU, both are really nice units

im thinking getting the eclips HU.. cept a different model, the reason being is MP3 format sucks in car Audio
CD5423 http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=23584
Same features basically cept no MP3 but 5vPreouts instead of 2.4 or whatever it was

then im thinking on just getting an Amp and see how well the stock speakers handle... any suggestions on that? Around 50 to 150 watts RMS... or will i blow the living **** outta the speakers? whats the max i can do RMS on the stock speakers..? without ****ing killing them the 1st time i turn it up

THEN im gonna get Prolly one JL 10w6 or 2 JL 10w0 dont know yet... and must have an amp that will power them, whatever i decide..

if the stock speakers blow... ill get kappa fronts and jl rears

I think the Alpine's easier to use and has comparable features in that price range (than the Eclipse).

I'd suggest you get 2-way speakers for the rear, NOT 3-way. The 3rd 'super tweeter' or whatever they call it is a marketing gimmick. It's not worth the money, and could reduce the midbass of the 6x9 speaker because it reduces the cone area.

You're WAAAY wrong on this. MP3 is ideal for car audio, with all the background noise you'll hear in the car, the minor errors in the MP3s will be invisible.

Don't waste your time/money with amping the stock speakers.

Your call, will likely depend on your budget. 2 10w0s will likely be louder than 1 10w6 though, but may not sound as accurate. You'll have to decide if you can hear the difference or not.

Maybe you are using low bitrate files to begin with?

Why are you burning CD's with a program that only allows recording at 92kbps?

192 is fine. I can usually pick out 128 files, 192 sounds good, and 256 takes up too much space. A variable bit rate would be better though, I think the line in lame is "-alt preset medium" or something like that. That'll give you a good compromise between size and quality. If you want higher quality (and bigger size) try "standard" "extreme" or "insane" instead of "medium".

More effective use of disk space. It all depends on where you draw the line between size and quality. You can't have both, but there are ways to make compromises.
