what up man, thru reading numerous posts of yours and replys to everyones questions I feel that you know a bit about car audio
I need some help.
FYI- I have a 98 Accord Sedan EXL
Not to long ago, I purchased the following:

Pioneer avx7000
Pioneer p900r
Infinnity Perfect Componnents
Infinnity Kappa 3-way 6x9's
Infinnity Perfect Subs (2) 10"
Kicker 2252 Amp (=componnents)
Kicker 1252 Amp (=3-ways)
Zapco AG1000 Amp (Subs)

Ive been saving some green to get a custom install complete with vinyl wrapped custom spare tire box (firing towards the license plate) and flush mount amp racks covered in plexi, exc exc. Well today I went down to my local shop and I need to make some decisions.

1. Ported or Sealed Box

2. Is it worth paying a **** load of money for RCA cables? I had a PG and a Stinger to choose from one was 10.00 and the other was 50.00 does it really fvcking matter? I want a clean looking install anyway with the wires run under the amp.

3.What gauge of wire should I run?
ott,4,8 and to which amps? For some reason I thought that the shop would do whatever was the most expensive, considering I know no better. I dont want anything that i dont need.

4. I was told that tweet an mid range speakers are supposed to be mounted within hands distance of eachother (componnent set with tweet and 6 1/2), so are my componnents going to sound like sh!t if I put my 6 1/2 in the doors and my tweets in the factory location up under the windshield? If so should I invest in Kick-Panels?

Sorry for all of the questions Bro I just wanted a second oppinion, from someone that isnt going to profit on there awnswers.

I'm not LOUDACCORD, but I'll answer your questions.

1. Sealed Box will give you tighter bass, ported will be thumping bass.

2. Gold or Platinum RCA's will improve the sound quality, but if you're not competing or an audiophile, I'd get the cheap ones.

3. 4 guage to the back and then they will branch off to what is needed for each amp.

4. kickpanels do have a better sound then the factory locations, but again, if you're not competing or an audiophile, the factory locations are fine. For the cleanest and most accurate sound, componants should be no more then 6" away from each other...i.e. kickpanels.

ok if your refering to me.. heres what i think..

first off nice choice on stuff im sure youll love it.. ok now lets go on down the list.,

id do a sealed enclosure on those subs.

as far as **** loads of money i would refer t othat kinda company as kimer kable etc. a good wire would be something like the Lightning Audio Storm series. which is good or monster cables top line stuff.. dont buy the cheap cheap cable. but you dont need to buy the 100 dollar a ft rca cable either.

now on to power wire. the zapco should get a 4 gauge of its own and the other 2 should get an 8 gauge so you could run 2 4 gauge cables back one direct into the zapco and then a dist block for the other 2 amps. in your situation ot cable would be a waste..

kick panels kick panels kick panels aaaaahh kick panels hehe.. well depending on what you can get them for.. get them.. they will improve imaging etc ALOT. but other wise youll be fine with the mid in the door and tweets on the dash. in my accord i had my bostons in the door and the tweet in the stock location and it rocked and had no loud tweeter glare etc. if they attenuate the tweeters just right they will sound great and could have a nice image from your stock locations. and the rule of thumb is 6" for future reference hehe..

I'll add my 2 cents. I agree with all the advice given so far. However, when tweets are mounted too far off line, like LOUDSYSTEM said >6in, I can tell that the highs and mids are comming from different locations. For me, this kills the immage. I hate the Bose system in my wife's CL because of this (also because of the metalic tweets). The distance is 6 inches because it is the distance between your ears, no joke. I would say that kick panels are in order. You won't regret it. Or maybe you can get costom made kicks as part of your install. Even the $175 or so for Q forms is not that much considering what you have already spent to have good sound.
