i was on ebay and i came across a "custom" port thru the plastic divider between the two back seats in a 4th gen? if not here is a link to (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...852578&r=0&t=0) it seems like a good idea, but is it? if you have an opinion on it, let me know. cuz i was just going to find a vtec 4th gen and take the stock sub enclosure and modify it, but this might be cheaper
well its the same idea as putting the seat down; less material to block sound... but i dont think it will make it much louder, u might get unwanted sounds cause of the mesh and h sumbol causing turbulence, if u want to get it, get it for looks, not for performance; but theres no way i would get it myself.
the 4th gen vtec came with a 7 speaker sounds system which included a small sub/6x9 ( i havent been able to determine yet) that is mounted between the 2 back seats where the plastic piece is.

Yes, the "sub" is a 6x9. The crappy thing he is selling could be made for less than $8 in parts from Home Depot. it looks like a worthless piece of ass to me. I doubt it would do much good at all, especially considering that the 6x9 is such a low power unit. If you have aftermarket subs in the trunk and want to port them into the cabin, do something classy like using the speaker grills or a stealth port in the rear deck.

I was thinking of doing something similar to what you said. I'm going to be removing the speakers in the rear deck (some Pioneer 6.5" coaxes) and just leave them open but covered with the factory grills; just wondering what your opinion on that would be.

If you have an decent front stage setup, and subs in the trunk, might be a good idea. I think it would look far better than the garbage that dude is selling on ebay (well, you wouldnt really be able to tell that you did anything at all). Just dont expect HUGE gains in bass output. . .it might a help a little bit though.
