Alpine speakers any good?

Well my Eclipse's lasted me 8 good years, and i think since the fronts are blown, its time to move on.
I work at bestbuy, and i don't have much money lately, so since i get about half off on speakers their, i'm going to buy them their.
The guy at the place said Apline Type-R's are the best speakers they have? Anybody know if they are any good?Granted i know they won't be MBquarts or anything.

Type-S's are the model below Type-R's correct me if im wrong

i have had alpine speakers in the past. the type-r, and type-x are not bad. usually have a nice size magnet, good bass. my type-r 12" sub has held up very very well.
