which alarm w/remote start for lude?

hello everyone, i have a 4th gen prelude... I curently have a alarm system which is not all that great... and in texas the winter time has come... now its time to get remote start... the other night i ordered Viper 5900 which has:

-2way paging
-remote start
-sst technologyy up to 1 mile range
It retails in stores for $500 with installation. I bought it from eBay for $220
NOw the problem is since I have a manual transmision, i can get someone to install it for me, but if it is ever left in gear, the car is going to try to take off... but I never leave it in gear, and no one else realy drives my car, maybe once in a blue moon... Im just worried that there is one time that it will happen and im going to risk on recking my whole front end of the car...

or I have an option of selling the alarm for the same price i got it and getting compustar's new model:

which is compatible with remote start on mannual transmission
-2way paging w/ remote start
-6000 ft. range

now it's VIPER VS. COMPUSTAR...

now i like the remote on the viper but on the compustar it looks too... i dont know colorfull i guess...

so what should I do, stick with the VIPER or sell it and get COMPUSTAR... the compustar is going to cost me about $200-275 extra (incl. installation charges)...

I would appreciate all the comments and feedback, thanks guys!!!!!!

yep, i left my car unlocked, someone was in teh car and left it in gear... i remote started the car and ran over a box haha.

I then installed a 2min run circuit... the car stays running for 2 min after I turn the car off. voila, no problem and I still don't have a compucrap.

I have the compustar 4w900FMAS on my Lude which is compatible with manual for almost 2 years with no problem, i just recieved my Clifford 50.5x ,2 way security and remote start with SST tech. prob the same thing as viper 5900 for my DD (SUV) auto, i was gonna get another compustar cuz i love the Paging system that it comes with it, but i picked up the BNIB Clifford for $200 shipped from ebay which i though it was a good deal.

BTW Compustar won't auto start if its in gear

Okay guys... after hours and hours of research... i found it!!!! DEI recently announced a module (689m) for their alarms to use remote start in mannual transmission vehichles...
You can purchase it from AL & ED's autosound...
http://www.al-eds.com/product.php?pr...cat=323&page=5

I am so happy that i found this, now I can have a goodnights rest, hopefuly this thing is easy to install, and im still trying to figure how it works...
and here is the article, respectfully copied from DEI's site:

Remote Start - It's Not Just for Automatic Transmissions Any More!

VISTA, Calif., Sept 20, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ --

Fall is in the air, and remote start season is coming to the Great Lakes, New England and the Mid- Atlantic regions -- anywhere that gets cold. However, this winter there's good news: Directed Electronics (Nasdaq: DEIX), the largest designer and marketer in North America of consumer branded vehicle security and remote start systems based on sales, with leading brands like Viper, Python and Clifford, today announced the availability of an interface that permits the installation of remote start systems on manual transmission vehicles.

(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020424/DIRECTLOGO)

That means that, starting this fall and winter, owners of stick shift vehicles can press a button on their keychain remote from the comfort of their home or office, and from up to a mile away their vehicle's engine will start remotely, and its climate control system will pre-warm the car and defrost the windows. In other words, the comfort and convenience of remote start is no longer limited to automatic transmission vehicles.

According to Jim Minarik, President and CEO of Directed Electronics, "Our new 689M Neutral Safety Module will make the comfort and convenience of remote start available to millions of potential users in the cold weather states, who previously couldn't enjoy it because they don't drive automatics." With an MSRP of $99, the 689M is now available at thousands of authorized Viper, Python and Clifford retailers across North America and around the world. (Remote start systems sold separately, and authorized dealer installation of the 689M is required.) For more information and a store locator, please visit http://www.directed.com

This is the remotes i have and i like it! plus it came with a one way remote. Now the version before this i agree its ugly!!!

Yes the car is armed as soon as it start it'll only un arms when u unlocked the door through the remote,

No i havent had a problem with the remote or the whole system it self, other than when i dropped it (2way pager) for the 10th time or so the 2 way remote wasnt recieving signal but can send out, just like the 1 way remote, but i have the 1 year warranty and they sent me new one including 2 free belt clip of course i didnt tell them i dropped it , i just told them it was malfunction, so far i have no problem and its been more than a year since i had it replace,BTW extra 2 way remote runs about $75. btw, don't expect 1 mile range out of the 5900 (or clifford). I just installed one w/ a bunch of other goodies and if you're not line-of sight, you don't get 1 mile range. I was disappointed at the lack of range especially inside buildings.

However, do the 5900, don't spend more for 720 extra feet of advertised range. The 5900 is just fine and I'd be suprised to find that it is short on features. Hell, with mine I did starter kill (built in), fuel pump shutoff, 9 sirens, motion sensor, and battery backup. I could even go further with window-roll-up module, and glass shatter sensor, etc, etc.
