Been collecting the various pieces for some time now, finally got the stuff installed by a real good shop near my house. Here is what I've got:
~Nakamichi TD-45z HU (AM/FM cassette)
~Nakamichi MB-70 in dash CD changer (more on
this later )
~Orion Xtreme 800.4 amp
~Focal 165k2 Polykevlar component speakers
for front stage (AWESOME!)
~Infinity Perfect 12" sub with custom
enclosure
I still have the stock 6x9 for rear fill for now-but you can't really hear them. They are powered off the HU so the Focals totally drown them out since they are getting 100 clean watts per channel. Unbelievable sound quality!
If anyone has any questions about the install, I'll be glad to share whatever I learned. Oh yeah, the MB-70 is bad, have to send it back for exchange. Oh well...

Hey, 1accord, how much did u pay for the focal speakers ? I heard they are great. I'm also interested in focal, the polyglass series, 165V. Can anyone tell me about this speaker ? coz there isn't any audio shop around me that carry this speaker. Thx
Vision-My car did not come with steering wheel controls (only the V-6 EX did I think).
Chris-Yeah, I am going to get some pics too. It sounds like you have a great system! Where did you put the tweets up front?
boilers-the Focals are fantastic! I did not listen to them first-just bought them based on what lots of people said about them and found a great deal on eBay auction by soundhabit.com They were difficult to install because of their depth and huge magnet assembly, but the shop did a good job of putting the bass driver in the stock location and the tweets a little higher up on the door panel. Great imaging and SQ!

Hey Ace!
Well the MB-70 units have been having some problems. There was supposedly a "bad batch" that Nakamichi had to replace a bunch. I got one of them. The problem is in disc loading-it is a mechanical problem with the mechanism. They have a facility in Torrance, so I think I will just drive it down there myself to save on shipping and time!
Hey I'm not too far away from you, maybe sometime we could meet up and check out each others system and car? Later!
Hey guys, i remember posting a topic about if anyone can hook me up since i've been pretty much saving my money eating ramen. Would one of you guys perchance work at an audio store and be named Joey? i got 500 bucks now for some front components and an amp.
Right now, the tweeters are screwed into the interior side view mirror pieces. I wanted to make a nicer setup (either fabricate my own side view mirror pieces, or even somehow install the tweeters in the door panel), but didnt have the time or the $$$ (replacement door panels are NOT cheap).
Once I get unlazy, there will be pics of those........I might even get to it tomorrow.
Chris- yeah, you can definatly put the tweets in the door panel- that's where mine are and it looks (and sounds) great! The material used to cover the little speaker grill doesn't quite match the door panel color, but I'll find the right stuff later. I'll try to post some pics in the next day or so.
Hey 1Accord: i was wondering how loud is your car from standing outside pov. i heard that our trunks is very sound tight. is their any way to fix this problem so that it would be booming like an suv with the same subs on?
Thanks bro.

having a sound tight trunk is not a problem for most people, it's a blessing. If you want it loud outside roll your windows down, or buy some of kicker's marine woofers, cut a whole in the trunk lid and mount them in there.
