5th Gen Stock speaker replacement

Are there any speakers (front and/or back) that will replace the stock speakers in the 5th gen with no modification? I have searched through the forum quite a bit and couldn't find any answers.

I am planning to buy a HU and I'd like to replace my speakers as well but I don't want to have to modify the stock stuff if at all possible.

If there aren't any speakers that fit, would a good HU make a significant difference in sound quality even with the stock speakers?

Thanks for the help!

I got a new HU and it sounded alot better than when the stock HU was there. Try and replace the HU first, if you are still not satisfied with the sound then replace the speakers if you want.

It only takes slight modification to replace the front speakers with 6 1/2" and thats to cut out the basket. The basket prevents a speaker with a larger magnet and basket to be used otherwise its fine. The rear speakers are 6 x 9 so most replacements should work fine. I opted for Kenwood eXcelon all the way around and I get nothing but praise from anyone that rides with me. I might post pics of my setup.

i dunno man, but it takes alot of hacking and modifications to get 6.5's in there, 5.25 fits perfectly with just the basket cut out ,and ya any 6x9 works in the back.

What kind of 6 1/2" speakes are you talking about. The 5th Gen 'Lude comes with 6" speakers stock. With that in mind the basket would be the only thing in the way. If there wasn't a website I can't find dedicated to this and an amp install along with me doing it myself I'd think otherwise. The only thing with 6 1/2s is that since the basket and magnet together are so much deeper it doesn't have as much air to use and with the window rolled down its even less.

i can't think of anything that would fit in there without cutting the basket out. i have been installing for a long time and have as of yet to come across anything as thin as stock honda speakers
i had to build my door out 1/2 ans inch to fit BA pros in it and it was the 5 1/4's at that no chance with the 6 1/2's

i wasnt referring to depth, i was referring to the size of the speakers that wouldnt fit into the stock holes that were there. 5.25 mount straight into the holes with only the basket removed. ive tried 6.5''s and 6''s and i only had luck with the 5.25''s.

I use 6.5" polk components and they fit just fine. But I got to cut the basket for the speaker depth to fit tho
