FS: JDM Type S lip, complete blue LED interior swap, misc other parts

Putting the Lude up for sale soon, so selling off the last of my remaining parts. All items are used but in good condition. If there any specific flaws with a particular item, I’ve detailed them in the descriptions below. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply or PM and thanks for looking.

PRICE AND PAYMENT
Payment accepted through Paypal and prices listed are SHIPPED. I try to honor sales in the order in which I am contacted, however I will place a higher priority on dealing with people that are easy to work with and legitimately ready to purchase.

SHIPPING

All items will be well packed and shipped (except the lip) within 24 hours of payment receipt from the east cost using USPS Priority Mail (delivery confirm # will be sent to you as soon as package is shipped).

JDM Prelude Type S lip - $150+ SHIPPING SOLD

Here are the shipping details so you can estimate shipping to your zip code.

Shipping method: FedEx Ground
Shipping from: Newton, MA 02458
Box dimensions: 69 x 23 x 7
Weight: Pretty light and I put 20lbs for the estimate. Actual weight does not matter though; due to the box size FedEx will use dimensional weight.
Insurance: $500 (this should cover your complete refund as well as lost of part for me in the event of damage)
Signature: Direct signature required

The total box girth calculates to 129" which is key. Anything above 130" incurs an additional $40 oversize charge. So if I was successful in staying under that, the shipping rates are very reasonable (a lot less than I expected). For your peace of mind, here are additional pictures and explanation of how the lip is packed.

The lip is boxed coffin style (sitting in a bottom box and lid goes on top). The box was created by joining two separate boxes. The seams were glued and taped. Corrugated cardboard "slats" were glued to the bottom box, sides, and top lid to provide support and prevent the box from buckling. The lip itself is wrapped twice in large air bubble wrapping. USPS Priority boxes were glued down the center of the box to provide column support and prevent the top from caving in or being crushed.

Another picture of the slats.

Corners of the box are also protected by corrugated cardboard.

More USPS boxes were folded and placed to fill the space and provide support throughout the entire box.

(Not pictured – As a final step, I also added a bunch of crumpled newspaper to fill any empty spots)

All boxed and ready to go. Every seam and edge will be completely taped prior to shipping.

If you are interested in purchasing, let me know.

************************************************** ********

Genuine JDM Type S lip. I am the second owner and the lip has been on my car since 2002. The lip is custom painted Carbon Black Metallic (BMW M3 color) which is similar to Nighthawk Black Pearl except with more blue pearl. It is in good structural shape with no dents, breaks, or cracks. However, there are obvious signs of wear consistent with years of use. The front of the lip has quite a few paint chips from rocks, etc, and the underside has been introduced to the curb. It needs more than a simple paint touch up and in the least will require a moderate amount of sanding to really smooth it out again. It is fine to use as is, but if you don’t mind putting in a weekend’s worth of work and painting, this would be perfect for you and should turn out looking great. All the tabs are intact for mounting (hardware not included, but regular bolts and nuts should work fine).

Due to the size, I am not open to shipping and it is available for pick up only. I think the price is fair considering 1) availability and 2) condition so please don’t plan on lowballing (especially in person). I don’t want to waste anyone’s time (especially mine) so if you want more information or pictures to decide if it’s worth meeting, just ask.

Lip in its heyday…

Complete Blue LED climate control, switches, and clock (all direct swap) - $85 shipped SOLD

Complete set of climate control, cruise/moonroof/dimmer switches, and clock piece to change all your interior lighting to blue (indicator lights are red). All pieces are fully assembled and a direct swap for your OEM pieces (I have spares for myself to revert to stock so I will not require anything back in return).

The LED swap was performed by me using the tutorials on this site. The color is a bit washed out and uneven in some the pics but they are NOT that way in real life. The actual lighting is even and the color is a deeper blue. Most bulk sale blue LEDs are close to 470nm which is light blue/aqua in color. I wanted a more violet-blue color similar to the VW interior, so I used a combination of bright blue LEDs and lighting gels which I think turned out nice. The end result is a deeper blue color and more importantly the brightness is very close to stock. Some people use LEDs that are too bright and look too “hot”, which can be distracting at night. By mixing in the right combination of lighting gels, I eliminated the harsh glow but kept the rich blue and red colors.

Check Temp II temperature monitor - Reduced to $50 shipped

The Check Temp II is an add-on internal and external temperature monitor and electronic climate controller. It’s popular with the VW crowd as its shape is designed to fit and swap one of the interior pieces in the Golf. But it basically works with any car and I swapped out my clock piece and put it there. It is capable of advanced features such as automatically adjusting your fan and temp, but that won’t work with the 5th gen due to sliders having to be manually adjusted. So I used it primarily as a temp monitor and ice warning.

Includes the original box and everything that came with it:
- Instructions
- LCD
- Wiring harness (power, interior sensor, exterior sensor, climate control wires)
- Plastic sensor covers (for mounting)
- Case bezel for mounting LCD

Here are some links to other forums if you want additional information or pictures on the installation, features, etc.

Spare climate control - Reduced to $15 SOLDshipped

The lever bar for the cable (underside of CC) is busted but everything else works fine. Good for parts or practicing LED swap.

Broken slider tab

LEVEL anti-glare convex mirror (driver side only) - $20 shipped SOLD

Honestly wouldn't know where to begin trying to ship something that big without breaking, so local pick up only (for now).

I see you must have had the same problem with your LEVEL mirrors as I did. A week after I installed both of mine, I went to close the passenger side door and the mirror fell out completely, even though I though I put on enough double sided 3M tape and even some loctite super glue. It all came free though, and shattered on the ground, d'oh!

Now I have one blue LEVEL mirror and one OEM mirror, dammit!

Thanks guys, I'm going to start looking into shipping options for the lip this weekend. If it doesn't sell locally by the time I find a box and shipping service, then it's going up for sale for everyone. Whatever happens, I'll update my post here ahead of time.

Type S lip is now available for shipping!

Anyone who asked about shipping previously has been notified and given a heads up. But otherwise the lip is available to any and all buyers in the CONUS. Please use the shipping above to estimate shipping cost to your zip code.
