my 2001 OEM airbag is still intact. no accidents.

would it be illegal for me to install this in california?

You would need to find an air bag to get the cover. The pics are of the actual wheel being sold.

you can just hook up your airbag plug right in to the steerin wheel, you just might have problems with the cruise controll!!!!

You're seeing it correct but they are **** quality and not painted. For the work you would put in it to make it not look fugly save yourself several hours and just buy a used/good S2k airbag.

You can get an entire wheel with bag for $250-$300 if you watch on ebay. Or a bag for <$250 by itself.

Here's how to install an S2k wheel along with the cruise wiring:

I have used ntpog before when I installed the s2000 steering wheel on my 99 SH. So I am very familar with the process, I am just in a quick fix for getting another s2k airbag thats all.
