WTF IS WRONG WITH MY CAR? Randomly stalls at 55mph+

So my car randomly stalls on me.

Car basically turns off. I can still use my radio + clock + hazards, but the engine turns off (ie no power steering). I am left unable to restart my car again for 30sec - 3min.

They have replaced the ignition switch, because that's what they thought the problem was (they have not been able to recreate it).

Any clues?

Check the main engine ground by the oil dipstick. If that loses contact then your ECU loses power.

Any chance the check engine light is on?

How'd you test/confirm?

When your car died no lights came on (ie dash just went completely dark?)

^you turn the car on but don't start. Should hear the fuel pump priming in the trunk area.

If your dash went completely out, that's electrical.

Dash completely went out + car shut off, however I could still use hazards + radio.

The car turns on fine, it's the randomly shutting off that's the problem. Hell the mechanic drove the car for 30 miles and couldn't recreate the problem; I get it back for 5 minutes and it does it again.

try the crank sensor! I own a lude now but i remember when i use to drive a nissan sentra my crank sensor was going bad and it was doing exactly what you said but basically like the sensor was fried and when the engine got hot it would shut down! At first it would take a while for it to do that then it got worse and worse to the point where the car would run and as soon as it reach engine running temp bam the car died. Idk if ludes even have a crank sensor but if so just for kicks check it.
