Will worn out brake pads and/or rotors create a sound?

So will worn out brake pads and/or rotors create a rubbing sound? My rear rotors and pads are gone and need to be replaced, but sometime while cruising I get this rubbing sound that gets really really bad wehn I hit brake. I just want to figure out what it is, before I replace my pads and rotors.

Thanks, Jordan

Does it sound like a grinding noise?

Your brakes are designed to make noise when they are worn. As they get progressively worse, they will make more noise, from just when you brake, up to grinding/scratching all the time.

Get 'em replaced, and resurface your rotors too.

Jordan, I'm getting a noise too

Sounds like metal scraping on metal..sounds horrible So i'm sure they are VERY worn

I'll have some new cross drilled/slotted rotors from JDMH22 soon, can't wait.

Thats the noise alright. I noticed the noise only comes from the passengfer side (which is much more worn out on the pad). I thing/hope it is the warn out pad. I will post once I swap the rotors and pads and *hopefully* rid the lude of that awful sound.

Just dont drive any girls in the lude for now... i know first hand that the sound makes them think your car is a POS that is about to fall apart on the freeway and kill them in the interum
