us models got the emergency trunk release switch.

The 2001's have an emergency trunk release inside the trunk (it glows in the dark too!). Just in case you happen to lock yourself in your own trunk?
I think they also added child safety seat tethers (on the rear shelf). They might have had them on 2000's but I'm not sure now.
