Where do i get a tranny cooler for my SS?

After my warranty runs out (in about 2000 miles) i want to put on a tranny cooler and anything else that will keep the transmission and engine cooler. Ic ant afford an SS tranny malfunction. Anyone have any suggestions?

The auto tranny already has a cooler. It is right under the radiator. The Type SH uses the same device as the ATTS cooler. The 5-speed base does not have this.

Either get an aftermarket radiator and tranny cooler, or you could get a 5 speed radiator (I have one, if you're interested! ) and a cooler.

You can find cheap coolers at www.summitracing.com, or www.jegs.com. They are usually the tube and fin type of cooler. A better type of cooler is the stacked plate made by Mocal, Setrab, or Earl's. They are much more efficient, and cool much better. However, they are much more expensive. The tube and fin ones can be had for $20 from Summit or Jeg's, but stacked plate coolers run about $100 (without hose).

How much are you wanting for the 5-speed radiator? Also, to whom should i take a trany cooler so that it can be installed? Honda Dealer? How much better is the stacked plate than the tube and fin?

Stacked plate coolers are much more efficient than tube and fin coolers, and there is less pressure loss through a stacked plate as well.

Contact me about the radiator; william.howell@home.com

I also have a brand new, never used Mocal oil cooler, although I am not 100% sure that I won't be using it. I have to see what my oil temps are on the track before I decide whether or not to use it.

If you have basic tools, you could probably do the install yourself, but any competent shop could do it. I doubt Honda will do it because you will be installing non-Honda parts.
