What is the perfect suspension setup for an SH?

What bars should I get to upgrade my SH suspension? The SH suspension is pretty good already, will upgrading make a noticable difference? Is it worth my money? Thanks guys

Oh one more thing: Anyone have Tein HA's or SS's who are having problems with them?

The only problem that I've heard about Tein's is that it has a problem with rusting.

What's your budget? There's nothing wrong with Ground Controls as long as you use Koni shocks.

There's also nothing wrong with KYB's and a set of Tanabe springs. All depends on what you want to do with the car.

What I want is a suspension better than the stock ones. This is why I have been saving up for the Teins. My budget is soon to be ready for the Teins

Do Teins or other coilovers or shock/spring combos affect my car in a bad way, in other words, any "side effects?"

How can I prevent rusting from the Teins? How long do they last until it rusts?

Going by the fact that you live in Southern California (going by your profile) you shouldn't have a problem with rust. It will appear, but only be surface rust and never get any further than that. It's the more severe climates (road salt, snow, acid rain) that you need to start worrying. If you're not getting the Tein HA's then I wouldn't bother with them and just go ahead and get the GC/Koni combo. The only reason why I'd put Tein a little bit ahead of the GC/Koni combo was the nice spring rates and matching damper. Now that they're getting rid of the HA's, and introducing the SS line (30% lower spring rate, and probally the same with the damper) to replace it I REALLY wouldn't bother with it. If you need more reasons search for some posts by Marcucci, since Todd has had some choice words about the Tein's.

If you have the $$$ then you should go with Teins. If not, make sure you get the Koni Yellows as your shocks.

What are you planning to do with the car, and more importantly, what's your budget.

If you're talking unlimited budget, we should talk about some Penskes, JRZ, or Moton shocks with some Eibach ERS springs, custom upper mounts, etc. Then again, we're talking $1500 PER shock....

Teins are perhaps the best out of the box, but I would choose a rebuilt/revalved Koni on GCs with stiff Eibach ERS springs anyday. Besides, you can get the Konis rebuilt anytime you need, and you can get them rebuilt to be double adjustable if you like.

I had a set of race valved Konis with GCs and Eibach ERS springs. Bone jarring on the street, but damn did it handle on the track!

I am trying to decide what to do on the Miata, suspension wise as well. Maybe Advance Design or I might just go the rebuilt/revalved Koni path again.
