What is the number under the H22A stamp? You can convert a JDM H22A to odb2, thats the way mine is running for now.

If it only says "H22A" on the block, then it's a JDM H22A engine. All USDM engines will have a number after the "A", either 1 (93-96 Prelude VTEC) or 4 (97-01 Prelude)

JDM H22a engines came in both OBD1 and OBD2 but for some dumb reason lots of people think they were all OBD1, there are multiple ways to find out. Easy one is the TB, if it's OBD2 it will have the MAP sensor mounted on the top of it where OBD1 H22a's have it mounted on the firewall with a vacuum hose running to the TB. Another way is OBD2 motors will have a crank position sensor on the oil pump housing that can be seen from the bottom of the car where the OBD1 engine does not.

that wouldn't tell him what motor he has. maybe if it came from the factory but who know what the previous owener did. maybe he swapped a jdm intake manifold form a jdm motor.

your motor stamp tells you what motor you have.
lol this has been gone over so many times if you frequent this site.
h22a4 usdm 97-01
h22a1 usdm 92-96
