What is this inside my H22? (pics)

I'm curious what are the white notes written on my camshaft holders? It looks like every holder has "z9 18" plus some marks written on it. It is '98 EDM 5G prelude VTEC (h22a5).

some sort of junk yard notation, maybe? that's just a stab in the dark.

Has your motor been rebuilt? I'm gonna guess they are cam journal bearing measurments or clearances.

These pics are far from nice...but I use Canon 350D with Canon 17-85 USM IS lenses.

There is 190 000km (123 000 miles) on the engine. Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 in action

I'm guessing no, but I am not sure since I'm a second owner. I'm also guessing that if these were some rebuild marks, every camshaft holder would have different mark, not all the same.

Anyway, here is a pic of another head with only 7k miles, which has been posted by some other guy from the USA. It looks like some factory marks:

Mine has a nice yellow color. 120k Gastrol GTX 5W30 dino juice


Mine does not have those markings on it. I have owned it since it had 30,000 miles.

Yes, I am from the Czech republic in east Europe. I hope you know Jagr and Hasek

Concerning the H22A5, it is OBD2 engine without the second O2 sensor.

i think thats a 2, not a Z. just a guess tho. dont think a Z would be as much help as an actual number
