Ouch, that really hurts.
My general rule is: don't ever pay for anything with a money order. Precisely because you have no recourse at all if anything goes wrong. The only case I would even consider paying for something with a MO is when I am buying it in person, and I am able to test it before I buy.
Unfortunately for you, I don't think that reporting it via the IFCC will help you (it just lets the gov't collect information on where fraud happens). You might just be SOL. I would try and suck it up, and treat it as a learning experience (an expensive one).
