what bulbs for cleared turn signals.....

I cleared my turn signals a while ago in my 4th gen. and have been using amber LEDs ever since. I really want to change them though because they're just not bright enough...day or night.

I saw bulbs that are chrome painted but light up amber. Would I be able to find these at any auto stores for not too much money and are they any good?

If anything I'll just take some amber ones and paint them.

Dude, I have amber LED's in my car too. However, because of the LED's, my blinkers blink really fast. All lights work, nothing's malfunctioning! It's as if since LED's take less power to run, the car gives them the same power and so they blink really fast or something! I'm not sure, anyone know why this is?

When one of your turn signal bulbs blow out there is less resistance in the circuit. The flasher in the circuit flashes faster because there is so much more current avaible to it from the missing bulb. A 1156 LED (or any LED for that matter) uses alot less current than a regular bulb. Therefore all of the left current is going to the flasher causing it to "hyperflash." The car basically sees this as a blown bulb.

You could add a resistor in the proper sequence in the circuit or you could just use a load equalizer which is basically a big resistor which would provide the proper load/resistance for the circuit. Sorry if you can't understand this......I tried!

Anyone know where to get the chrome bulbs? Besides eBay?

I coated my amber turn signal bulbs with a light spray of silver paint for both my fronts and rears! They glow amber when I signal but silver when I don't

I think only Phillips Silver Vision lights up amber but is silver. Unfortunately, they aren't 7440 bulbs!
