Weird stearing wheel wobble.. BEaring?

OKay here is the situation... when Accelerating from a stop I get considerable wobble in my stearing wheel.. If I place my foor on the little foot rest peddle next to the clutch I can feel a sort of knocking the coincides with the wheel wobble....

I have a 1994 VTEC with about 150K on it.. its ONLY coming from the left front side..

Here's a little backround that might help too.. ABout 3 months ago I was forced off the road and hit a very low curb at a decent rate of speed.. Hard enough to take a chunk out of my Konig verdict, this was on my left from wheel. I got a new rim put on and everything seemed fine.. It had a slight vibration in the stearing wheel at abot 60-65mph but nothing serious..

I recently put my stock rims back on with brand new tires.. they were mounted and balanced etc.. the SLIGHT wobble at 60 mph remained but everything else was fine...

COming home from work today I took a turn Pretty hard, and it sounded like the left front tire rubbed a bit (the car is lowered w/Pro-kit) but it did this from time to time since I had it lowered, about 3 years ago...

SO could this be a wheel bearing?? WHat's this gonna cost me? IS the car driveable..

OH a little more description... the wobble ONLY happens when my foot is actually on the gas.. IF I accelerate from 0-30 it will wobble all the way to thirty if I gas it till like 15 mph and then let off the gas there is NO WOBBLE at all...

Could be the bearing but I doubt it. Those are really strong. You can find out by jacking that wheel off the ground. grab the wheel and try to move it back and forth. There should be no play in it. If you are able to feel it move, then you probably have a problem with the wheel bearing.

But you said it made the noise only when you accelerate so it is probably the CV joint.

Have you pulled the wheel of to inspect the suspension arms and bushing? Most likely CV joint on that side.

I would suspect the CV joint or wheel balance. You might try taking the car to another shop and explain what you have said and ask them to check the front wheels. Nothing has happened to them before?

I doubt it's the bearing, especially making a wobble. You might have the alignment checked out, too, you might have an odd alignment issue that's making the wheel want to track funny.

I actually had something similar that I was certain was a CV gone bad ( I had that happen in the past on this car and it was almost the same). However this time it was a inner bearing on the trans, I would hope it's a CV first since that's the cheaper fix.

I don’t think it is a bearing. When I had my wreck the lady hit my car on the wheel and ****ed up the bearing. I only drove it for a day or to after my wreck, but I don’t remember any vibration or wobbling in the steering wheel.

Also check to make sure the wheels are fully torqued. It took me 5 mechanics to figure out that my lug nuts were just looses.
